Pair of Mobili nella Valle chairs by Mario Ceroli for Poltronova, late 1980s - early 1990s. Made of rough pine wood. Signed with fire stamp “Ceroli” on the lower left side and fitted with a Poltronova card bearing a unique number. They are part of the “Mobili nella Valle” project, which Ceroli put into production for Poltronova in the early 1970s. The historical catalogs include art historian Arturo Carlo Quintavalle's comment, “The chairs, the same, with their very high backs, almost take on a different duration, an intensity and narrative capacity that is multiplied in the spatial-perspective play, of these characters”. The chairs, presented together with a table at the 1972 Eurodomus in Turin, are a lunch for metaphysical characters (cf. PC. Santini).
