Item description
Hand-painted ceramic cake stand by Hedwig Bollhagen, made in Germany in the 1960s. Designed in the 1930s for the HB-Ritz Keramik Werkstätten in Marwitz. In addition to its functional aspect, it will certainly also be a beautiful decorative object. Signed at the bottom "hb 2" and "hb 656". Hedwig Bollhagen was one of the most famous German ceramists of the 20th century. She collaborated, among others, with Charles Crodel. She founded HB-Werkstätten für Keramik, a ceramic company that still operates today, and a museum dedicated to her work was founded in Velten, Germany. The item has a beautiful black and green pattern, typical of Bollhagen designs. The cake stand is in very good condition with minor traces of use. Small scratches but no damage or chips.
