Modular cherry bookcase in the style of Mogens Koch made in Denmark in the 1970s. This minimalist yet highly functional modular bookcase is strikingly reminiscent of Koch's famous and timeless 1928 design, the "MK Bookcase System". The Koch bookcase has been produced continuously for more than 80 years and this particular set most likely dates back to the 1970s. This particular modular system, with its two square bookcases and a chest of drawers that resembles a cabinet/file cabinet, offers almost infinite flexibility with countless elements. The basic module, the bookcase with its internal compartments, can be easily adapted to the size of the books by changing the height of the internal shelves. The design also allows individual units to be stacked or arranged in various configurations to suit different spaces and needs. This flexibility makes it suitable for rooms of various sizes and purposes. Each bookcase unit is precision-built, featuring clean lines and careful joinery. The shelves are designed to support a lot of weight. The intense color and fine grain of the cherry wood, along with small details such as the solid cherry wood drawer handles, add charm and warmth to the minimalist, geometric shape. The wood has been cleaned and treated with protective oil to enhance its grain. All three modules are in excellent vintage condition with minimal and normal signs of use and age. The single module is 73 cm high, 81 cm wide and 33 cm deep. The top six drawers are 8 cm high, the bottom four are 12 cm high.
