Pair of cocktail armchairs by Otto Schulz for Jio Möbler, 1950s

One of the most sought-after models by German-Swedish designer Otto Schulz for Jio Möbler, 1950s. The armchairs are in beautiful vintage condition in quality red velvet fabric. The upholstery has been replaced by us with high-quality Italian silk velvet, Jaquard fabric. The entire structure is strong, almost flawless. Slight patina on the legs. The dimensions of the armchairs are ideal, lovely and super comfortable! Designed in the early phase of what we now know as mid-century modern, the first ‘Schulz’ chairs were produced by Otto Schulz's legendary company, BOET in Gothenburg. In 1941, production was transferred to the new Jio Möbler factory in Jönköping, from which the model took its name. The most luxurious and expensive velvet is silk velvet. Silk velvet is a material of the highest quality. In the past, it only appealed to royalty because of its high price. Besides being expensive, it is also rare'. H 72 cm x W 63 cm x D 64 cm, seat height 40 cm.
