Pair of PH5 hanging lamps by Poul Henningsen for Louis Poulsen, 1970s. PH5 is one of the most famous Danish lamps, first introduced in 1958 and has since become an iconic piece of mid-century modern design. The design aim of the PH5 was to provide glare-free lighting, achieved by lampshading with several concentric shades that work together to diffuse the light and prevent any harsh glare. The lamp is also equipped with a curved, trumpet-shaped diffuser, which directs the light downwards, creating a soft, warm light. Over the years Louis Poulsen has produced the PH5 in various colours, most famously in white and the subsequent edition in blue, red and orange. The proposed set is white and features blue elements and purple construction details. Overall, it is in fantastic original vintage condition, with no significant scratches or dents. Some disks may be "down", but this does not ruin the aesthetics of the lamps and is a common feature as aluminum is a soft material; however, it is not visible when the lamps are hung, as in the photos. The manufacturer's label has been preserved. Original wiring. 120 cm long cable.
