Modular teak bookcase with secrétaire by Poul Cadovius for Cado (Denmark), 1960s. It features minimalist design, brilliant joinery and great attention to detail, particularly visible in the well-integrated handles and beautifully woven front of one of the cabinets. The bookcase consists of a spacious cabinet with sliding doors, a cabinet with flap door and six shelves of varying depths, which provide ample space for storing and displaying books and decorations. The storage cabinet has two separate compartments with two height-adjustable internal shelves each. The cabinet with flap door can act as a hidden desk or even as a bar compartment. With its internal shelf for documents or laptop and two small drawers for accessories, it is a great alternative to a traditional desk and ideal for creating a discreet home office space in your home. The storage unit is 51 cm high, 80 cm wide and 40 cm deep. The cabinet with flap door is 51 cm high, 80 cm wide and 40 cm deep (when fully open it is 86 cm deep); the height of the drawers is 4 cm. Five shelves are 20 cm deep, one 30 cm. The three wooden uprights are 198 cm long. The hardware is made of brass. This system is entirely modular: all parts can be interchanged with each other and configured as desired using a simple system with brass brackets inserted into the solid wood uprights. The configuration shown is therefore just an example. The piece of furniture has been checked and is in excellent vintage condition. All doors and drawers work properly and all parts fit together perfectly. The wood has been cleaned with professional compounds and has been preserved with Danish oil to enhance the beauty of the grain.
