Laura Panno was born in 1954 in Montebelluna, in the province of Treviso. Of Veneto origin, she lives and works in Milan. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, she moved to Milan in 1979, where, the following year, she presented her first solo exhibition at the Naviglio Gallery. Since then there have been many other solo shows (among the most recent are the one at the Garner Tullis Gallery in New York and the one in Milan at the Fondazione Mudima) and numerous group shows, including the 1980 Venice Biennale, the Milan Art Biennials in 1987 and 1993, and the Triennials of Engraving in Milan in 1991 and 1994. Laura Panno currently resides in Milan where she combines her personal artistic research with teaching Printmaking at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. After high school art school, she graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice in 1976; she continued her studies in Abstract Art at the Academy of Salzburg with Mario De Luigi and enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera, where she was a professor of Graphics and Engraving Techniques. Invited by critic Tommaso Trini, she participated in Aperto 82 at the Venice Biennale, where she exhibited three-dimensional painting, nude bodies, paintings, and wire mesh modeling. She still devotes herself to painting, sculpture and graphics. In New York he produced a series of encaustic works with publisher Garner Tullis, resulting in the volume Tauriform (ed. Skira), accompanied by historian, critic John Yau. He has exhibited in New York, Madrid, Milan and museum spaces in Andalusia; in Paris and Barbizon, France.
