Item description
These stunning and world-renowned Cesca chairs were designed in the 1920s by Marcel Breuer and originate from Italy. Based on age-related signs, this set most likely dates back to the late 1950s or early 1960s. These chairs have a tubular steel frame that supports a seat and back made from meticulously woven cane, giving them a distinctive and timeless look. The honey-brown color of the cane weaving has aged beautifully over time, with a lovely patina that enhances the chair’s warm appearance. The natural beech frame, with its rich brown hue, is quite rare. These chairs were probably made by a small manufacturer, adding a layer of uniqueness and charm to their history. They are significant not only as pieces of furniture but also as artifacts of mid-century modern design, reflecting the era’s emphasis on simplicity, clean lines, and the integration of new materials and manufacturing techniques. The chrome frames show some minor discoloration but no corrosion. Light scratches on the beech frames add character and do not detract from the overall aesthetic. Great original condition with beautiful patina. *The price is for one piece, we do have three of these.
