Teak Royal System bookcase by Poul Cadovius for Cado (Denmark), 1960s. It is an entirely modular two-bay composition. A cabinet, five shelves and a small console will provide enough storage space, while the compact writing desk creates a space for working or studying at home. The cabinet has two internal drawers with green fabric and adjustable shelves. Three wooden uprights with slanted holes, a feature of the first editions of Cadovius wall units, provide an easy mounting system with various arrangement possibilities. The bookcase features brilliant joinery and showcases the rich grains of the teak wood. The slightly sloping edge profile reveals the mastery of Danish craftsmanship. Cadovius considered this system one of his most unique and successful projects. It's easy to wall mount, with each component mounted on dowel holes without any visible hanging element. The system is entirely modular and allows you to position cabinets and shelves as needed; the configuration shown is just an example. The five shelves are 80 cm wide and 22 cm deep. The cabinet with sliding doors and two internal drawers and shelves is 51 cm high, 80 cm wide and 46 cm deep; the drawers are 7 cm high. The console with two drawers is 15 cm high, 80 cm wide and 28 cm deep. The desk is 80 cm wide and 46 cm deep. The three uprights are 200 cm long. The bookcase has been carefully checked: all parts fit together and the drawers and interiors are clean and run smoothly. The engraving "Made in Denmark" is preserved on the shelves. The furniture is in fantastic vintage condition with minor signs of use. The wood was coated with additional layers of Danish oil.
