Modular three-bay teak bookcase by Poul Cadovius for Cado (Denmark), 1970s. The piece features a minimalist design, brilliant joinery and great attention to detail, particularly visible in the well-integrated handles and beautifully woven front of one of the cabinets. The brass brackets and the black color on the back of the cabinets add elegance to the whole. The bookcase includes a cabinet with flap door, which can act as a hidden desk. With its internal shelf for documents, laptop and accessories, it is a great alternative to a traditional desk and is ideal for creating a discreet space for studying or working at home. A storage cabinet with dividers seems to be specially designed for vinyl record enthusiasts and offers plenty of space to store your favorite LPs. With the addition of a console with two elegant drawers and storage compartments and ten shelves of varying depths, this bookcase offers a versatile mix of display and storage options. The vinyl cabinet is 42 cm high, 80 cm wide and 38 cm deep; dividers: 10 cm. The cabinet with folding door that can act as a desk is 42 cm high, 80 cm wide and 43.8 cm deep; depth when fully open: 74 cm. The console is 24 cm high, 80 cm wide and 30 cm deep; the drawers are 10 cm high. Three shelves are 20 cm deep, six 24 cm and one 38 cm. The four uprights are 197 cm long. This shelving system is entirely modular, all parts can be interchanged with each other and configured as desired, using a simple system with brass hooks inserted into the solid wood uprights; the configuration shown is just an example. The bookcase has been checked and is in excellent vintage condition. All doors and drawers work properly and all parts fit together perfectly. The wood has been cleaned with professional compounds and we have preserved it with Danish oil to enhance the beauty of the grain.
