Item description
Sarino Papalia (Bagnara 1898 - Rome 1958), oil painting on panel of Tuscan landscape. It measures 25 x 15 cm, with frame of 35 x 45 cm. Sarino Papalia participated in the XX and XXI Venice Biennale of 1936 and 1938 and numerous exhibitions between Milan, Florence and Naples. In 1937 he was invited to Paris in the exhibition of Italian engravers. On the wave of the consensus that the public reserved for his works he had a strong artistic commitment and as the age progressed his production was increasingly characterized towards rural landscapes and still lifes. The works of Sarino Papalia are on display at the Gabinetto Nazionale delle Incisioni in Rome, the Galleria d'Arte Moderna, the Museo Romano and the Accademia di San Luca. Other works can be found in the Museum of Caracas, Quito, Puerto Rico, Guatemala and the Boston Modern Art Gallery.
