Item description

Remington can boast of being the company that created the first writing machine, in the distant 1870. One of the first users of the writing machines produced by the company was none other than Mark Twain. Controversial is the story if he was actually the first writer who produced a typewritten manuscript to be sent to his publisher, but it was certainly one of the first. More than two dozens of different versions of the Remington typewriter have been produced in total over the years. The company began life as and Remington and Sons, taking its name from the one who founded the company in 1816 almost sixty years before manufacturing the first Remington written machine to be written. In the meantime, they were responsible for the design and implementation of remington rifles. Remington is remarkable as a brand of writing machine for the simple fact that their first two models of writing machines had characteristics that are still in use today on each individual computer keyboard in the world. The first writing machine they produced was known as the Sholes and Glidden Writing machine. The invention of the typewriter was attributed to Sholes as we know it today with the so -called Qwert keyboard that we all know. These small machines were marketed aggressively and were a great success. They were the first laptops to write with four-file keyboards of keys, and in this category they had no competition until Royal and Underwood introduced portable four-rows of keys in 1926. The Folding-Typebar mechanism raises the characters' bars to a Angle of 45 degrees, the printing position, via a lever on the right side of the typewriter. The types of the types must be lowered again when the writing machine is put in its case.
