Item description
Pipistrello lamp by Gae Aulenti for Martinelli Luce, 1970s. Designed in 1965 for the Olivetti showrooms in Paris and Buenos Aires. Designed by Aulenti inspired by Art Nouveau revisited in a modern key. Mass produced by Martinelli Luce. The lamp features a telescopic base in black lacquered metal that allows its height to be varied from 70 cm to 90 cm. The shade is made of plastic material and the shape recalls a flower, a typical decorative element of Art Nouveau. Under the base is the manufacturer's mark. This is a specimen of the first edition of lamps, original from the 1970s. It is in excellent state of preservation, is fully functioning, has obvious and natural signs of time visible in photos.
