Murano glass vase by E. Barovier for Barovier & Toso, 1940s
SILVER Seller in Perugia, Italy
A fan-shaped vase made of Venetian crystal glass with a particular decorative effect ("Bullicante" Venetian slang) used by Murano glassmakers, which consists of small air bubbles that are immersed in the glass. This vase is enriched with lateral applications consisting of shaped glass strings with a characteristic wavy pattern, called 'morise' in Venetian slang. The vase, made in the Murano workshops of Barovier & Toso in the 1930s and 1940s, has small ash particles immersed in the glass, due to the workmanship and precisely formed during the firing of the vase.
