Item description
Coat rack with folding doors by Eugenia Alberti Reggio, 1950s. It has a simple but functional structure. It consists of a grid of horizontal wooden slats on which practical black-painted metal hangers can be moved, slid, unhooked and rehooked. Four vertical wooden panels serve as doors that open with a folding system and are equipped with two wide brass handles. This piece won third prize ex aequo in the "La Rinascente Compasso d'Oro" competition in 1955. It is in original condition so needs some minor restoration work to accommodate some chipping to the exterior veneer, as well as polishing. The piece is equipped with an electrical system for neon lighting with a power control when the same is opened but it is recommended to rewire the circuit.
