Kazuki 3 floor lamp by Kazuhide Takahama for Sirrah, 1970s-80s. Metal structure, white fabric shade, chrome-plated steel rod floor stand. The original fabric diffuser, which has halos, has been preserved and is available; a new one with the same characteristics has been made, visible in the photos. The metal structure has, almost exclusively in the base, some areas with small rust stains due to normal wear and tear over time. One of the anchoring seats of the chrome-plated steel rod ground supports does not have a travel stop; the rod was temporarily stopped with a layer of paper tape. The company Sirrah was founded in Imola in 1968, taking its name from a star in the constellation Andromeda. It debuted in 1968 at the Triennale presenting a series of lamps designed by the Albini-Helg-Piva studio. From this date industrial production begins while maintaining the handcrafted characteristics of the products: refinement, extreme attention to detail. In 1973, the collaboration with Takahama introduced the use of new materials: the Japanese designer began using a heat-resistant, elastic and washable fabric with which he made several lamps. In the 1990s, after the acquisition of Sirrah by iGuzzini Illuminazione (1994), the focus shifted decisively to the production of lighting fixtures for specific market sectors. Since June 2004 Sirrah has been incorporated, through a merger, into iGuzzini Illuminazione.
