Pair of French oil paintings on canvas, early 19th century. Coeval frames. One depicts a pair of nymphs in an erotic attitude immersed in dense vegetation surrounded by architecture. In the other, the composition is engaged again by the two nymphs but at the moment when one of them is trying to take a thorn from the other, and they are surrounded again by vegetation and architecture. The splendid workmanship and refined coloring make clear reference to the French pictorial culture of the early 19th century. Complete with certificate of authenticity.
