As Magistretti says, the Impiccato lamp, present since 1972 in the Artemide catalogue, was born from the need to solve a problem typical of the configuration of the interiors of the houses: «Usually, in the dining rooms, they make you the attack for the lamp in the center of the room, and so if you want to put the table in the corner you are screwed». The lamp that consists of a tube parallel to the ceiling to which a counterweight is hung and the diffuser of the lamp itself, allows you to easily change the position of the lamp in order to make free the choice of the placement of furniture, especially the table. Adjustable also in height, the Impiccato lamp, like other famous precedents (Arco lamp, Castiglioni, 1962) represents the overcoming of the rigidity imposed by the classic pendant lamps while maintaining their functionality intact.
