Italian paintings of the first half of the 18th century. Pair of oil paintings on canvas attributable to the painter Antonio Mercurio Amorosi (1660-1738), missing authenticity. He will work mainly in Rome and following the taste of bambocciate will perform scenes of popular genre that draw inspiration from the life of the populace. These works are not real portraits but popular figures much in demand by the Roman aristocracy. In the couple in question we see a man in an inn watching us toasting and a young girl with a fruit basket, of remarkable pictorial quality, found in particular in the meticulous details of the clothes and the still life. Pair of paintings that are part of a very rare group of eight paintings (see photo and request the price in block if still available). Works that have undergone a restoration with imprint, replacement of the frame and resumption of color in some small points. Overall in good condition. Painted light H 63 x L 54 cm.
