Italy of the 70s Measurements 36 x 36 with a depth of 19 By opaline glass (or opaline or milky glass) we mean a milky glass, which can be white or coloured. To make opal glass, opaque substances are added, such as: sodium phosphate, sodium chloride, calcium phosphate, calcium chloride, tin oxide and talc oxide. The glass can thus take on different colors and present variable shades of color, depending on the quantity of the added substance: from white to grey, to pink, to lavender green, to golden yellow, to light blue, up to blue and black . The first opaline glass objects were made in Murano in the 16th century, with the addition of calcium phosphate
