Item description

Italian painting from the second half of the 19th century. Oil work on cardboard signed Quadrone, attributable to the painter Giovanni Battista Quadrone (1844-1898), lacking authentication. His stylistic signature will be genre scenes lightened by using literary subjects or costumes with a theatrical flavour. In fact, in our painting we find a dancing court jester with a splendid dog at his side, a subject very dear to the painter and taken up in several compositions. Contemporary frame in carved and gilded wood, with some small defects (see photo). Overall, it is in a good state of conservation. Light painting H 14 x W 10.5 cm.
