Etching by Giovanni Battista Piranesi (Mojano di Mestre 1720 - Rome 1778) from Antiquities, volume 3, plate XLII. Piranesi created the volume of Roman Antiquities between 1756 and 1757. This monumental work consists of four volumes and represents one of his most important works, documenting in detail the ruins of ancient Rome through his engravings. Printed area: 57 x 39.5 cm. Excellent condition, as can be seen from the attached photos.
