This is an original boxed Italian desk set from the Late Empire period, dating from around 1870. The set is made of gilded metal and pure crystal, exemplifying the luxurious craftsmanship of the period. The set includes: a 9 cm high square crystal inkwell with gilded accents and an ornate lid with intricate designs and possibly an emblem or coat of arms on top. A 19 cm long crystal letter opener adorned with gilded metalwork, with classical figures and detailed motifs. A 9 cm long crystal seal stamp, never used, with gilded handle, again featuring classical motifs and fine details. A gold pen with finely worked nib, in keeping with the luxurious theme of the set. A 19 cm long rectangular pen holder made of crystal edged with gold metal, with an intricate design that complements the other pieces. The items are housed in a case lined with green velvet, framed by golden weaves that enhance the opulence of the set. The case is made of high-quality leather, indicating the premium status of the desk set. This set would have been used by a person of high rank and reflects the elegance and refinement of the Late Empire style. It is in perfect condition, only the box has signs of age.
