Item description

Oil painting on canvas with a scene of gypsies around the fire: a nocturnal scene in which we can glimpse nature, the river, the tent and the family sitting by the fire, taking refreshment and waiting for the woman to distribute the food contained in the copper pot. Very particular is the light that spreads from the fire and seems to illuminate the faces of the people, while at the same time the moonlight illuminates the natural surroundings. Complete with a gilded frame, the work bears a signature at the bottom. There is a cut on the canvas in need of repair. Early 20th century. Measures 94 x 7 x h 75 cm.
