Antique wall cartel clock with shelf, signed Denis Masson in Paris, inlaid in the Boulle manner in gilded metal on a black background, gilded and chased bronze trimmings and sculptures, surmounted by a sculpture of a "Winged Putto". Louis XV era. The clock rests on a coeval shelf and presents an exceptional curved and tapered design with a splendid bronze mount with scrolls. The front elevation features a large white enamel dial with Roman numerals surrounded by beautifully chiselled maiden heads. The clock is raised by very elegant feet with elaborately detailed scrollwork designs running along the scalloped front and down to the smooth central cabochon. Mechanism in need of overhaul.
