Gabriella Crespi
The long career of the Milanese designer Gabriella Crespi (1922 - 2017) began in the 1950s after studying architecture at the Milan Polytechnic. The glamorous and sumptuous style that has characterized her work since its inception, does not go unnoticed at the Maison Dior, with which she worked in the '60s creating a line of objects for the home. But it was in the 70s, when Crespi designed the Plurimi, an elegant series of furniture-sculptures with shapes that can change position in space, that her furniture reached the highest expression and notoriety in the world: among the most famous stand out the tables in brass, steel, copper and lacquer, from Magic Cube to Table 2000, from Eclipse to Puzzle Table. Crespi's most recent objects (the last table, Wave Desk, was created in 2016) are inspired by a long spiritual journey in the Himalayas, where the designer lived from the 1980s until 2008.
