Cleto Munari
Jewelry-making industrialist, collector, patron, Cleto Munari was born in Gorizia in 1930 and lives in Vicenza. From the early 70s to the present day, he has dedicated himself to designing collections of precious objects, created in collaboration with the great masters of 20th century and contemporary design: from furnishings to ceramics, from cutlery to clocks and jewels, his refined pieces are part of the permanent collections of the most prestigious museums in the world, such as the MoMA and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It all began when, after a career at Fiat in Milan, Cleto Munari came into contact with the design field thanks to his meeting with Carlo Scarpa in 1973, who became his teacher. Shortly after, Cleto founded Cleto Munari, a company that forged projects in collaboration with eminent designers such as Gio Ponti, Ettore Sottsass, Vico Magistretti, and Achille Castiglioni.
