date and location: 4 - 12 September 2021, Venice, Italy
THE VENICE GLASS WEEK is the international festival that the city of Venice dedicates to the art of glassmaking, offering both a program of events - exhibitions, demonstrations, guided tours - and special digital appointments that put at the center of the international debate the reflection on the "making" of glass, today.
#VivaVetro, the theme of this edition, is under the sign of optimism and celebrates the importance of Italian craftsmanship on the world stage. Protagonist of the festival is Palazzo Loredan, home of the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti, which hosts "Venice Glass Week Hub" with the works of 20 international artists, 16 designers under 35 and presents to the public the documentary Murano's Secrets by Francesco da Mosto. The Glass Museum, on the other hand, inaugurates "Murano Glass Toys", an exhibition curated by Matteo Silverio and organized by Consorzio Promovetro "an experimentation beyond the idea of art glass and a demonstration of great virtuosity".
The Venice Glass Week festival is promoted by the City of Venice and conceived and organized by the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, Le Stanze del Vetro - Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti and Consorzio Promovetro Murano.
