Item description
Toso's 1970s modernist Murano glass square wall sconces are distinctive and artistic pieces that reflect the innovative glasswork for which Murano is renowned. They can also be used as ceiling or table lamps. Overall, they are in good condition and in working order. The sconces have a square shape and consist of four thick glass panels arranged to form a box-like structure. Each panel has an irregular, ice-like structure that gives the impression of frozen, translucent blocks of ice. This design creates an extraordinary visual effect, especially when the sconce is illuminated. The glass panels have a frosted, almost matt finish with rough, textured surfaces reminiscent of natural ice formations. This texture adds depth and tactile quality to the wall lights. The brackets are discreet and do not alter the overall aesthetics of the glass. When illuminated, the wall lights project a diffused light that emphasises the unique texture of the glass. These wall sconces by Toso are exquisite examples of the art of Murano glass and combine functional lighting with a sculptural and decorative quality. Their ice-like appearance and modernist design make them timeless pieces that can enhance various interior styles.
