Painted and engraved COPPER roundel. "ITALIAN MINERS ON THE BOTTOM" in CHARLEROI (Marcinelle). SIGNED: L. ZANOTTI 50s/60s (In memory of the Marcinelle tragedy. On 8 August 1956 an explosion in the 'Bois du Cazier' coal mine in Marcinelle, a working-class suburb of Charleroi in Belgium, caused the death of 262 miners, 136 of whom came from our regions)
