Iconic coffee table mod. ‘Traccia’ by Meret Oppenheim for Gavina. The table top is covered in gold leaf and has traces of birds in relief on the surface. Vintage condition, some signs of wear on the top. The top rests on two brass feet in the shape of bird's feet. The original table was exhibited by the Surrealist artist Meret Oppenheim in 1939 for the Parisian gallery René (Artist) where fantastic and Surrealist furniture and art were presented. Dino Gavina later collaborated with Oppenheim to produce the table commercially for Studio Simon, Milan, from 1972.
