Item description
Metal and milk glass suspension lamp model A288 by Sergio Asti produced for Candle. Made in Italy, 1970. An opaline glass orb with a lipped center ring allows for the brushed nickel shade to gently rest on top of the glass. The pendant is adjustable on height by 12" either direction. We recommend a 40-60w max bulb or LED equivalent. After graduating in Architecture at the Polytechnic of Milan, he trained for the profession in Milan in the 1950s, and was assistant to the chair of Interior Architecture (1953-1958). In the field of Industrial Design, he was among the first, in the 1950s, to address this problem. He was among the founders of ADI. He was a member of various Executive Committees and Working Commissions of ADI itself. He held teaching courses related to I.D. at the Istituto Superiore d'Arte in Venice and, abroad, at the Istituto Sperimentale Superiore in Shizuoka, Japan. He held numerous conferences and took part in Round Tables in Italy and abroad, in particular in France, Germany, Portugal, the United States, Japan, China, India and Thailand.
