Item description

An exclusive submerged glass aquarium vase from the 1960s, attributed to the famous designer Flavio Poli for the renowned Vetreria Seguso. This refined example of Murano art is distinguished by its extraordinary workmanship: the transparent glass encloses a casting of intense cobalt blue, which seems to flow in a fluid and harmonious movement. Further embellishing the work is a submerged green glass fish, enriched by small air bubbles that give it an effect of naturalness and dynamism. The balance between the purity of the shapes, the quality of the submerged technique and the decorative details make this vase an unmissable collector's item, capable of enhancing any setting, whether classical or modern. The vase is in excellent condition, free of scratches or significant signs of wear, testimony to the care with which it has been preserved. Flavio Poli (1900-1984) was one of the most important protagonists of 20th century Italian design. After training in design and decoration, he began his collaboration with the Seguso Vetri d'Arte glassworks in 1934, where he became artistic director. Poli revolutionised glass design, introducing new techniques such as submerged glass, characterised by overlapping layers of differently coloured glass. His creations, which range from functional design to decorative art, have won international recognition, including the prestigious Grand Prix at the Venice Biennale.
