The frames are high quality cast and are of good weight The laurel leaf is primarily a symbol of eternal glory, special achievement, success and triumph. In Rome they were symbols of war victory, honor and peace. Gaetano Sciolari's company was based in Rome, so this design was probably influenced by this ancient symbolism. The lamp is preserved in original condition, overall length 90 cm.
