Emilian painting from the seventeenth century depicting Virgin Mary and Pentecost, oil on canvas. The painting depicts the descent of the Holy Spirit during Pentecost, a moment described in the acts of the Apostles. At the center of the scene stands out the Virgin Mary, sitting in a solemn and hieratic pose, with an enveloping coat and a gesture that suggests prayer and recollection. The apostles are placed around her, represented with expressions of amazement, devotion and kidnapping, while everyone receives the language of fire on the head, a symbol of the Holy Spirit. The white dove, at the top in the center, emerges surrounded by a golden halo and rays of light, which spread towards those present.
