‘Olinto’ modular bookcase, designed in the 1960s by renowned Japanese designer Kazuhide Takahama for B&B Italia, is an icon of modern design. Its modular structure allows for versatile customisation, adapting to different space and style requirements.
This specific configuration comprises five white modules: two equipped exclusively with open shelves and three integrating shelves with one closed compartment each. This arrangement offers a balance between display and storage, making the bookcase functional both for the display of books and decorative objects, and for the discreet storage of other items. As the modules are also finished at the back, the bookcase can be positioned either against a wall or as a room divider.
Over the years, the bookcase has developed a distinctive patina that accentuates its vintage charm, testifying to its authenticity and history. The surfaces show signs of wear consistent with age and use, adding character and uniqueness to the piece.
The overall dimensions of the bookcase are 233 cm in height, with a total width of 335 cm (each module width 67 cm) and a depth of 33 cm per module. The shelves are adjustable in height, allowing flexibility in organising interior spaces.
