Rare Pair of table lamp mod.577, Lumi Milan, 1960. Model 577 was designed in 1960, with lacquered metal and brass structure. Glass lens. Black painted brass square conical base, painted with wrinkle paint. Built-in transformer. Brass rod. Brass tubular conical lampshade, partially painted black. Glass optic lens. Chrome small rod with a round black decorative handle on top. Some metal parts. Bakelite E14 socket. Lens regulate the intensity and the illuminated area. Born in Rome, Italy in 1934, Oscar Torlasco designed many beautiful lamps. The most well known are the lamps he designed for Lumi. In 1959 Torlasco won the Italian design award, the “Compasso d’Oro” (Golden Compass) Good consistent with age and use. Slight signs on the brass. In working condition. One circular knob is missing, but it does not affect its functioning.
