Victorian dressing table with mirror and drawers in mahogany feather, 19th century

Dressing table in fine mahogany feather, finished on four sides so that it can be placed on the wall or placed in the middle of the room to enjoy its aesthetics even at 360 °. The upper part, linear and uniform, is supported by two elegant supports separated from each other by a crossbar, everything is made with a refined and sophisticated pod processing. But the beauty of the toilet and the number of potential uses, can be appreciated when we lift the upper mobile top: this is provided inside a mirror, and, through metal support, can be stopped in a vertical position. We also discover that, by lowering the hinged front part, it is possible to use the large side drawers. On the left side of the dressing table we can also lower a practical shelf. Many features to make the vanity table practical, comfortable and rational (you can follow these operations in the succession of photos). The piece of furniture was made in England between 1848 and 1850 with mahogany burl, a portion of very fine solid wood, characterized by an elegant natural design with feather-like spots. The toilet was treated with natural products and methods used in the English artisan workshops of the 1800s, even the polishing was carried out with a cotton swab soaked in shellac and straw oil with pumice stone powder.
