Item description
A beautiful and elegant showcase of Louis XV / Louis XVI style and transitional period, second half of the 18th century, made in Turin. Its small size combined with the quality of the execution makes this a rare piece. The singular top called "priest's hat" is seen, with the same decoration on the two sides. The lacquering is still original and has the profiles, the sculptures, and the works in relief all with the original gilding; lacquering and gilding with inevitable light signs of time. The lead-bound cathedral glasses are all original and handblown. The two linings (above and behind) are original as the "butterfly" nailing, a typical feature of the 18th century. The doorknob is in bronze. The internal fabric is used and, although not torn, should be at least cleaned. The state of preservation is very good. There are 3 "cathedral" pieces of glass, out of the 15 components of the door, that are broken, but, being at the corners, they are easy to replace.
