Item description

The Goldmisths Company is one of the oldest commercial activities in London still active. It was founded in 1327 as an association of artisans and merchants, specifically goldsmiths, a term that designates the craftsmen who work precious metals. Even today, the company follows the long tradition behind it and precisely screens every work produced for it, so much so that it has been commissioned by the British government to monitor the validity of British coinage. The silver and blue glass vase is a London work from 1898. The chiseled and embossed Victorian decoration generates a soaring effect that stops with the onset of the geometric fretwork that lets the glass shine through.
