Item description
Pleasant and elegant pair of hand-painted white opaline glass table lamps. Originally these lamps were oil lamps, the mechanism with the wick has been removed in order to electrify them for more comfortable and modern use, giving them another aesthetic purpose. The base and upper decorations are in gilded bronze that time has slightly aged, but made more interesting. The lamps were made in Napoleon III style in France between 1925 and 1930 in a handicraft workshop in Wimmenau, in the Vosges region. Evidently, the electrification was done later and they were also prepared for the use of a lampshade (see photo), which is not supplied so that everyone can choose their favorite color and shape to match their decor. For their manufacture has been used an opaline glass of the first choice, then a skilled painter-artist has painted by hand and in relief, delicate flowers, shoots, and graceful leaves, putting meticulous attention to detail and choosing soft and pleasant colors, the design wraps around the entire body of the lamps, so they are enjoyable at 360 °. The electrical system is new but the wiring is European, the compatibility of the voltage in other countries must always be checked by an electrician before use.
