Item description
Thermoformed plastic was the Sormani's obsession in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The idea of manufacturing serial furniture using automotive technologies led to the making of a series of furnishing items and accessories way before some big names of today, in cooperation with the top multinationals of the era, Bayer and the likes. These three ashtrays designed by G. Bosi witness the colorful creative way of the high end Italian manufacturer. The top of the ashtrays is in chromed-satin brass and the body is thermoformed black and orange plastic (2 in orange, one in black). Ideal to pep up a corner in any room: lounge, bedroom, office. These pieces almost look like a sculpture. They were still in the original packaging and have never been used. They all bear the label of the manufacturer of Arosio (CO), Italy. The pieces come with a "Certificate of Authenticity" on original vintage letterhead.
