Item description
Zeki Müren was known for his unique voice and flamboyant costumes. Müren also designed the décor of the scenes in which he performed. In fact, he was one of the successful students at the State Academy of Fine Arts at the time. The motifs he designed in the late 1960s were used to create a collection of rugs in Isparta. Although most of these rugs have been destroyed or worn out, pieces in excellent condition like ours can still be found in the bazaar. Shapeless yet simultaneously harmonious elements stand out against a dark blue background, creating a magnetic and mysterious effect. The wool is still thick and lustrous. Müren's rugs are timeless rugs that tell of a taste and sensibility that is unparalleled. In the history of oriental rugs, no one had ever dared so much before Müren.
