Item description
Original stool Polo 70s produced by Kartell designed by Anna Castelli Ferrieri. Made of tubular metal, plastic material and black and white wood. Branded under the base of the seat. Anna Castelli Ferrieri (Milan 1918 - 2006) was an important Milanese designer and architect, who became known especially for her industrial design projects and innovative use of plastic, collaborating in the creation of several objects for the company Kartell, founded by her husband, the chemical engineer Giulio Castelli. She dedicated a good part of her life to the research of new styles to rethink the design of everyday objects. The Kartell company was founded by Giulio Castelli in 1949, taking its first steps in the creation of the design that would become the flagship of Made in Italy. Kartell's turning point came when, after years of research and thanks to a revolutionary innovation, in 1999 it became the first company in the world to use polycarbonate to produce furnishings. The result was La Marie, a completely transparent chair with a modern and minimalist design, followed by Louis Ghost, still one of Kartell's best sellers. From that moment on, the company developed and deepened the theme of transparency, which made it unique and original, and continued its research into the study of surfaces and shapes, starting from the use of new technologies and preforming materials that allowed it to create products never made before.
