Folding wooden table by Vittorio Introini for Sormani, 1970s

On hold

Lovely and very rare wooden table designed by Vittorio Introini in the 1970s for the fine Italian manufacture Sormani. The table is rare indeed, it is entirely made of a fabulous dark precious wood. The base is made up of two rectangular panels fitted together nicely so as to create an obvious X. The closed table has a very simple square shape, but its rarity lies precisely in the fact that you can see the opening panels, since it is a size adjustable table. In fact, for each corner there is a triangle that can be opened; opening all 4 creates a square twice as large as when closed, leaving the rhomboid shape centrally. The table is of unparalleled fineness, a must-have.
