Bastiano three-seater sofa and pair of armchairs by Afra and Tobia Scarpa for Gavina, 1960s. Black lacquered wood structure and brown leather upholstery. Gavina, about this design, said he was "exploiting Le Corbusier's idea of free cushions to make a modern sofa," but this time using wood. The sofa is very comfortable as it has thick cushions that fall into the frame; the frame then acts as a basket that holds the wide, comfortable cushions together. The sofa is 67 cm high, 212 cm long and 78 cm deep. The armchairs are 67 cm high, 92 cm wide and 78 cm deep.
