Wood and vinyl table by Umberto Mascagni for Harrods, 1950s
SILVER Seller in Foggia, Italy
Table by Umberto Mascagni for Harrods, 1950s. European solid wood structure covered with cream-colored vinyl with anodized aluminum details; the legs are also covered with black vinyl. This table is an interesting example of mid-century Italian design. In 1952 Umberto Mascagni created a new way of producing furniture using innovative materials such as PVC and anodized aluminum; this is provocative considering the market of this period. His furniture is sold at Harrod's in London in 1952-1955.
