Item description

Fluted white glass vase from Seguso's Scavo collection, 1980s. This is a rough-surfaced ornamental glass with a matte finish imitating antique glass, similar to glass that emerged from archaeological excavations. The effect is achieved by sprinkling the surface of the glowing glass, after shaping it, with a mixture of high-melting oxides and low-melting salts; the outside is thus opaque, while the inside is shiny.
