Item description

Round coffee table by Daniela Puppa for Fontana Arte, 1980s. Glass top, wooden support and brass base. It has normal traces of time and use; some marks on the top. Daniela Puppa, multifaceted architect and designer, has made style and elegance her distinctive trait. Watchwords: energy and curiosity applied to product and fashion design. Graduated from the Milan Polytechnic, she began as editor of Casabella magazine and participated in the birth of Modo. She approached the world of design through experiments with the Alchimia and Memphis groups. Since then she has never stopped, ranging from the world of furniture to lighting and textile design. In parallel, she collaborated in Paris as an accessories designer for the LVMH group and Dior. She had a long-standing relationship with Fontana Arte: in the early 1980s - under the artistic direction of Gae Aulenti - she designed the fittings for events in which the company was the protagonist together with Franco Raggi. In 1992 she designed for the Milanese company Prima Signora, a floor lamp with timeless elegance. She carried out teaching activities at the Milan Polytechnic in the Faculty of Industrial Design, at the IULM and at the Domus Academy in Milan, where she held seminars and is the rapporteur of projects concerning the connections between the fashion and design system.
