Item description

Oil painting on canvas made in Naples in the second half of the 19th century and depicting Cleopatra. A symbol of beauty and seduction, she is depicted here bare-breasted with a snake in her hands, in a sensual pose charged with pathos. The Queen of Egypt is depicted wearing the classic Egyptian headdress and is shown in all her strength even in the last act of her life, with the clear intent of wanting to leave an image of eternal beauty. The composition and soft colors refer to the Neapolitan school of the second half of the 19th century. Complete with certificate of authenticity.
